Music Rolling Stone has a total crush on the Cleve

Northeast Ohio is all over the new issue of Rolling Stone.
The Black Keys rate two mentions, first on page 12, where the Akron duo's new record, Attack and Release, makes the editors' Hot List alongside Usher and Santogold. The album receives a 3-and-a-half-star review (which is pretty standard, and scores a tie with both the new Counting Crows Record, Panic at the Disco, Van Morrison, and the Simon and Garfunkel Live 1969 disc; apparently the new REM and Moby are better. Whatever.)
Onetime Clevelander Trent Reznor also scores lower marks than he deserves on page 66, for the new Ghosts I-IV instrumental double-LP. Senior Editor David Fricke also raves up the Survival Songs EP, the first installment of a promised four-part series by the Akron-spawned singer-songwriter. And page 34 features a picture from the Arcade Fire's Obama-rally show from March 3 at the Beachland. The issue also covers the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony -- the New York City gala that next year will be held in Cleveland. -- D.X. Ferris
