Four local artists will celebrate the release of Live From Cleveland, the Crooked River Groove/WiFi Café Sampler, Volume One with a Words & Music concert at Tri-C’s Metro Campus Main Stage Theater on May 2. Don Dixon, Doug Gillard, Carlos Jones, and Tommy Wiggins will perform and talk about their songs ... In addition to Dixon (who’s produced R.E.M.), Gillard (a former member of Guided by Voices), reggae-man Jones, and singer-songwriter Wiggins, Live From Cleveland includes songs by local faves like the Armstrong Bearcat Band, Alex Bevan, Mr. Downchild, Roberto Ocascio’s Latin Jazz Project, Bob Frank from Blue Lunch, and the Prayer Warriors. The CD marks the 15th release on Tri-C’s CRG Records label and will be available for purchase at the show. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $10 and are available at the door. There’s also a meet-and-greet with the performer after the show. Call 216-987-3277 for more information. --Michael Gallucci “Any Kind of Lie” by Don Dixon and Marti Jones:
