Brothers Lounge uncorks itself with wine testing

Posted by Joe Tone on Wed, May 7, 2008 at 9:40 AM

If you haven’t had a chance yet to check out the recently opened Brothers Lounge (11609 Detroit Road), Sunday May 18 could be your golden opportunity. That’s when manager Giuseppe O’Connell is throwing a little “get acquainted” wine tasting and open house in Brothers’ gorgeous Wine Bar, complete with jazz and an assortment of light apps. ... “We’ll be sampling 20 different international labels,” says O’Connell, “just as a way of introducing the room to people who love wine. It’s the first of what I hope will become a regular series of tastings, and it should be a lot of fun.” Besides the chance to swirl, sip, and chill out, guests can also arrange to purchase the featured wines – many of them rarely seen on area wine-store shelves -- at retail prices. Place an order that evening, and pick them up on Friday, May 23. The wine tasting costs $20 per person, and runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Drop in anytime during those hours; and afterward, stick around for dinner or live music in the Music Hall. For reservations, email O’Connell or call 216-226-2767. -- Elaine T. Cicora
