Mick Boogie’s a great DJ, but he’s an even better blogger

We’re not quite sure how Mick Boogie finds the time. Besides being Cleveland’s busiest DJ, he also runs what is emerging as one of the best hip-hop blogs in the region. He must own a Blackberry or something. ...
Boogie’s blog presumably started as an outlet to promote his and beat-blasting-partner Terry Urban’s gigs. But it’s now evolved into a constantly updated stream of whatever the DJ finds interesting, which, apparently, is a lot of shit: local and national hip-hop, the Cavs, business, politics, and random wackiness found on the web. You can’t go wrong with a blog that covers Prodigy discussing his reading list from jail, the newest CD from a very local rapper/producer, and Jay-Z’s latest business manuevers, all without missing a beat.
But our favorite recent tidbit from his blog doesn’t have anything to do with hip-hop, and isn’t local. And since more than 3,000 people commented on the above youtube video, Mick Boogie certainly isn’t the first to find it. But we wouldn’t have seen it otherwise, and godamn if it hasn’t been the most inspiring thing we’ve viewed all week. -- Gus Garcia-Roberts
