Mic Check: The Poets & Pirates Tour at Cleveland Browns Stadium on Saturday

Chesney: "Howdy, ma'am."
Kenny Chesney gets top billing at Saturday’s big country show at Browns Stadium. No surprise here – dude has sold, like, a gazillion records this decade. While he keeps inching closer and closer to Jimmy Buffett’s margarita-soaked throne with his island-inflected twang, he’s at least making solid records for people who dream of seven-day weekends. Gary Allan, LeAnn Rimes, Keith Urban, and, for some reason, Sammy Hagar join Chesney on the Poets & Pirates Tour, pretty much hitting every demographic: something for fans of American Idol-style singing (Rimes), something for the ladies (Urban), something for folks who still think it’s 1985 (Hagar), and something for people who like their country with some depth (Allan) ... Gary Allan has been making really good albums for a little more than a decade now. But with 2005's Tough All Over, he started making great ones. After his wife committed suicide, Allan got to work on a record all about loss, pain, and heartbreak. It's not an easy listen. On last year's Living Hard, Allan lightened up a bit, looking for love and kicking out the jams. Be sure to get there early to check him out. He’s worth it. --Michael Gallucci The Poets & Pirates Tour with Kenny Chesney, Gary Allan, LeAnn Rimes, Keith Urban, and Sammy Hagar comes to Cleveland Browns Stadium (100 Alfred Lerner Way) at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 24. Tickets range from $20 to $99.50, available by calling 216-241-5555. For a preview, listen to Gary Allan’s “Smoke Rings in the Dark” below.

Very tacky comment about Keith Urban. He's an outstanding entertainer and not just for the women. I saw him in concert and Gary Allan was the opener. I thought Gary was good, but Keith was phenomenal and not just because he is hot looking! The man is super talented!

Well, here's another person who thought your comment about Keith was tacky. Keith would be the ONLY reason I'd go to that concert. Chesney knows that Keith will be a huge draw and he needs help to fill those stadiums. I'd like to see Chesney go on tour with just one opener and see how many seats he could fill. He's okay but he's not the ARTIST that Keith is.

I agree Keith would also be the only reason I'd go to the concert!
