The A-K-Rowdy Fest — as indy as Cleveland’s is pretentious (kidding! love ya, mean it!) — kicks off at the Akron Art Museum tonight at 7 P.M. with a screening of Sita Sings the Blues, a somewhat-animated Indian epic. The fest continues into the weekend with standout documentaries like Audience of One, about a church pastor who gets a message from God to make a $50 million movie, and The Rock-afire Explosion (pictured), a documentary “about a small-town car salesman, a struggling inventor, and an animatronic rock band that becomes an eccentric portrait of childhood memories, broken dreams, and the resilience of the human spirit.” The full schedule of movies and workshops is here. — James Renner
