Tiffani Calise, Babysitter, Arrested in Toddler's Death (UPDATED)

Update II: A jury today found 21-year-old Tiffani Calise guilty of murder, involuntary manslaughter and child endangering in the death of a 23-month-old who Calise had been babysitting. (NewsNet5)

Update: Tiffani Calise was charged with murder today in the death of 23-month-old Aaliyah Ali, the toddler she was babysitting last week when Ali was found unresponsive in a bath tub and who eventually passed away last Thursday, two days after the incident.
The coroner, though releasing no specific cause of death yet, says that the injuries Ali sustained are not consistent with Calise's version of that night's events.

Update: Joshua Ricket pleaded guilty to murdering his girlfriend's 19-month-old son. When the child would not stop crying, Ricket threw the baby on a bed and choked him. He faces life in prison.

Joshua Ricket was babysitting Jordan Pizzi, his girlfriend's 19-month-old son, Friday when the child sustained injuries that eventually led to his death.
Pizzi was taken to Tri-Point Medical Center in Painesville before being pronounced dead.

Terry Brooks, Channel 5 Sports Anchor, Charged with Rape (Updated)

Update II: Brooks was found not guilty on all nine counts this afternoon. (WEWS)
Update: Brooks has stepped forward to deny the allegations of rape, according to his employer, WEWS. "I am innocent of these charges," he told Channel 5.
Some more details also have eked out of the prosecutor's office. Channel 5 reports Brooks and the alleged victim were acquaintances before the incident; the woman also was seriously impaired on the night of the rape.
"The individual was substantially impaired either mentally or physically and was not able to give consent to the acts that were forced upon her,” assistant prosecutor Paul Myles told the station.

As Fox 8 reports, Rodney Stewart, a minister at the Broadview Heights Baptist Church, was recently arrested on three charges of importuning, possession of criminal tools, and disseminating materials harmful to a juvenile. Stewart was snagged by investigators from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies posed as a 36-year-old mother and her 15-year-old daughter and lured the holy man into impure territory. Stewart reportedly saved every conversation he had with the fake mother-daughter duo, and even went as far as to go all Brett Farve, emailing over a special picture of his very own "rodney":

Talthina Jackson Beat Her 14-Year-Old Son With An Iron, Forced Him to Eat Feces (Update)

Update: Back in mid-August when we wrote this story, the details available at the time were scary enough: Mom hits son with iron.
Now, further allegations have emerged against Talthina Jackson's treatment of her children that are simply nauseating and heinous.
NewsNet5 reports that police have documented a long history of abuse.
Reports say Jackson locked her 14-year old son in his bedroom for so long he had to urinate out of the bedroom window and defecated in the closet, for fear of being hit for leaving the room. When Jackson came into the room and discovered the feces, she made him eat it and gave him a plastic bag to vomit.In another incident, she thought the boy had urinated on plastic that was laid out to paint, so she made him lick it up. Miday said it was actually cat urine.
Another time, Jackson got angry at the boy for feeding the cats before her, so she made him eat the rest of the cat food. He vomited in a bowl, which she made him eat as well.

Update: Brennan Eden was stone-cold sober. That unbelievable revelation comes from authorities who tested Eden's blood for drugs and alcohol following his spectacular crash near Dayton last week.
Raise your hand if you thought they'd find a LiLo-worthy cocktail of substances coursing through his veins? Yeah, us too.
Turns out he was clean and simply a reckless idiot.

Sam Mazzola's Bear Killed a Man (UPDATED)

- This bear is completely harmless, until he is harmful.
Update II: Lots of happenings involving Mazzola since the initial attack.
First, a judge ordered that Mazzola under go mental health treatment.
Second, the AP writes today that Mazzola didn't have workplace injury insurance in case an employee, like Brett Kandra, was killed or injured on the job. Officials are probably going to frown upon that discovery.
