If you feel like Phantom of the Opera has been touring forever, you'd be partially right. It's been 18 years since Andrew Lloyd Webber's creation hit the road, covering 73 cities and putting in some 7,000 performances. That's 7000 shows that girlfriends loved while boyfriends napped on the shoulder of the strangers next to them and 7000 performances where they told her breathlessly how much they loved it after the curtain came down. So, yeah, it just feels like forever.
August 21 is the tour's final Saturday night in Cleveland and the cast plans to let loose after the show with a "somewhat naughty cabaret performance," whatever that means exactly, called Divas After Dark at Pickwick & Frolic at 11:15 p.m. They might even tell "dirty jokes," by which we assume they will make jokes about gimp masks. Seating is free if you want to go check it out.
Anyway, here are Carol Burnett and Julie Andrews in the "Phantom of the Opry," for those of you not down with the real version. Julie Andrews looks pretty dynamite in this clip.
