Update: Stewart has been sentenced to one year in prison, according to 19 Action News.
This one goes the distance in the gruesome category. A 43-year-old Broadview Heights preacher has been hit with charges related to his pastime: scouring the internet for weird, illegal sex
As Fox 8 reports, Rodney Stewart, a minister at the Broadview Heights Baptist Church, was recently arrested on three charges of importuning, possession of criminal tools, and disseminating materials harmful to a juvenile. Stewart was snagged by investigators from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputies posed as a 36-year-old mother and her 15-year-old daughter and lured the holy man into impure territory. Stewart reportedly saved every conversation he had with the fake mother-daughter duo, and even went as far as to go all Brett Farve, emailing over a special picture of his very own "rodney":
"He's having sexual, very sexual conversations sometimes with the mother, what he believes to be the mother, sometimes the daughter, sometimes with both of them," said Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason, who also chairs the statewide task force. Mason says Stewart used a webcam to send the 15 year old girl a picture of his private parts.
Investigators busted into the Broadview Heights home Stewart shared with his wife and four children, confiscating computers and an arsenal of small arms. He was in court today, where a judge set a $25,000 bond.
