If you’re a fan of animal-abuse porn — and who isn't, really — you may remember the video of the employee of Conklin Dairy Farms in Marysville who was caught on an undercover video in May, violently assaulting cows and calves.

That employee, Billy Joe Gregg, Jr., pleaded guilty today in Marysville Municipal Court to six counts of cruelty to animals. Six other charges were dropped in a plea agreement. Gregg got eight months’ jail time and a $1,000 fine. He also got three years’ probation during which he’s require to get counseling and can’t be around animals for three years. Animals in the Marysville area are breathing a little easier.

Okay, I get it. This is a really "hip and cool" site, so you do not have to adhere to any real journalistic integrity. But, using the phrase "animal-abuse porn" and stating that we are all fans of it is not hip and cool. It is disturbing. If you believe that the violent abuse of sentient beings deserves a sarcastic comment, you must have checked your heart at the door.

The video (be warned- it is very disturbing) shows the beating of cows in the face with crowbars, stabbing them with pitchforks, breaking their tails and punching, throwing and kicking calves.
Which begs the greater question, is this behavior tolerated on cattle/dairy farms or is Cregg just a bad apple in a bin of happy apples?
