Update:
Bond was set at $2 million for the murder suspect.

According to the AP:

Robert Grigelaitis, who was the subject of a nationwide search earlier this week after allegedly fleeing Ohio, had his bond set at $2 million.

Grigelaitis, 59, appeared briefly before Municipal Judge Mark K. Fankhauser in a video hookup from the jail.

Moments after the suspect was shown on the court's big-screen television, dressed in orange-striped jail clothes and sitting in a chair, Grigelaitis began the hearing by saying: ''Good afternoon, judge.''

He made no additional comments, except to acknowledge his next municipal court appearance, 9:15 a.m. Oct. 8.

According to Ohio law, he was not required to make a plea at the hearing and did not do so.

Andy VonStein was found murdered a little over a week ago. The Portage County real estate agent was shot to death inside a house he was showing.

The crime made national news. Inside Edition and others focused on the horrific nature of the crime and local real estate agencies instituted procedures to ensure that their agents wouldn't fall victim to similar assaults.

All the while, a national manhunt was underway for the suspect — 59-year-old Robert Grigelaitis.

Thankfully, authorities in North Carolina nabbed him.

19 Action News reports that Grigelaitist had been living in Ravenna this year, and police suspected he was on his way to Florida.

U.S. Marshalls, who had been working in conjunction with the Portage County Sheriff, took him into custody without incident.

Authorities say tips, leads and impressive team-work led them to Grigelaitis.

Grigelaitis is a resident of Fort Lauderdale, but has been living in Ravenna for the past 7 months.
