Parma resident Sheila Hall-Blagg never saw herself as a social-networking maven — not until three years ago, when she and several friends were enduring divorces.

“I knew what kind of help I was looking for, but it’s hard to know where to look — especially when you’re limited in funding,” she says.

Rather than opting for the more conventional route of sledgehammering her ex’s car, she launched divorce2dating.com, a new social-networking site for divorcees that’s the result of three years of research.

Hall-Blagg says only 10 percent of the site’s activities focus on dating. “We have resources for people going through divorce: an attorney, counselors, financial planners. If you want to save your marriage, there’s an option for that.”

But she says the most valuable resource is the other members’ blogs and the comments they post. It’s apparently cathartic to know that your ex isn’t the only asshole out there.

“It’s amazing how what one person says can be healing to another, to know other people are going through the same thing,” she says. “Even years out of my divorce, reading what members said helped me heal some of the things that hurt to this day.”
