Here at Scene & Heard, we don't have Cheerios or eggs for breakfast, we have specious internet rankings. They come with 100% of our daily doses of iron, numbers, and BS. Delicious and nutritious.
The latest batch from from Travel & Leisure mag via NewsNet5. According to the mag, Hopkins is the second most dangerous airport in America, right behind O'Hare. Of course, they're not talking about the chances of you getting mugged at Cinnabon. They're talking about actual plane safety here, which they calculated by tallying the number of runway incidents in the last five years as reported by the Federal Aviation Administration's Runway Safety Report. Hopkins had 45 in that time.
While the publication titled the rankings "most dangerous airports," they helpfully remind you that there's "little or no possibility for runway collision or casualty," so this is actually more like a list of airports where super minor inconveniences that will prevent you from getting a cafe mocha before your connecting flight. The top ten is below:
1. Chicago O’Hare
2. Cleveland Hopkins
3. Los Angeles International
4. San Francisco International
5. Honolulu International
6. Miami International
