If you are not one of Cleveland attorney Andrew Samtoy’s thousands of close personal friends and happened to miss his three previous Cash Mob events, clear 2 p.m. tomorrow on your calendar. The sparkplug behind the Cash Mob movement, which Scene writer Maude Campbell detailed in her February cover story "Original Mobster," will be leading the mob — anyone who wants to come and spend at least $20 — into Nature’s Bin, 18120 Sloane Avenue, in Lakewood. Look for Samtoy; he’ll be wearing a bowtie.
Showing how much his brainchild has grown, Samtoy has declared tomorrow International Cash Mob Day, with more than 200 other cities participating. That’s one of the reasons he’s announced this month’s cash Mob location in advance (the usual practice is a assemble people at a certain location and surprise them with the identity of the business they’ll be patronizing.)
Since Cash Mobs have a twofold purpose — patronizing a locally owned business and socializing with new people — mobbers will gather afterward at the Avenue Tap House, 18206 Detroit Avenue. There's up-to-the-minute info at the Cash Mob Facebook page. — Anastasia Pantsios
