Local musician issues 'The Christmas Chicken' song and book

Available at the Only Cleveland store in Tower City, local musician and author Eli Fletcher’s "Ruth: The Christmas Chicken" makes for a good last-minute gift for kids. It’s a CD/book that relates a story about a boy who lives in the “far off land called Ohio City.” One day, the kid buys a chicken and it starts to sing. “I wrote the song at the end of 2007 for a friend of mine who has a chicken farm,” says Fletcher. “It’s about a chicken that sings ‘Jingle Bells.’ It’s a sing-a-long for the kids. Last year, I made the book that goes along with it. I even have a radio theater version I’ve done that’s aired on college radio stations.” Fletcher is also currently in the process of recording a new album that’s due out in March.
