Yesterday was the Cleveland Animal Protection League’s 100th birthday, and to celebrate they’re slashing adoption fees by half through Sunday, February 10th. Cats, best known for their bravura performance in “The Internet circa 2006-2013,” are now $19.13; dogs, widely acclaimed for their mad ups, are only $50 (the normal fees are $45 and $95, respectively). Plus, if you bring in four or more cans of puppy or kitten food, you’ll get $20 off the adoption fee for animals under 5 months old. The APL’s adoption package includes spay or neuter surgery, initial vaccinations, worm and flea treatment, and a collar with an engraved ID tag.

In a recent press release, APL CEO Sharon Harvey implored the community to help the the nonprofit "empty [their] cages of every adoptable animal by the end of the day on Sunday." You could spend $19.13 on a round of beers this weekend, or you could secure yourself an adorable friend who will love you forever and probably pee on your floor less than your real friends.
