UPDATE: So the Crushers lost last night. The Schaumburg Boomers got hot late in the game, ultimately winning 3-1. Still though, a stunning season for our friends in Avon. From the Crushers' website:

The loss for the Crushers ended an incredible 2013 season. Lake Erie was as many as six games below .500, but claimed their first divisional championship and won a franchise record, 11 consecutive games during their push to the post season in August.

Now, it's Tribe time.

The Lake Erie Crushers — the independent minor-league club in Avon we profiled in a cover story last month — have secured the Eastern Division title and clawed their way to the Frontier League Championship against the Western Division champions Schaumburg Boomers. Only problem is, they're now down 2-0 in the best-of-five championship series.

Tonight, the Crushers play at home at All-Pro Freight Stadium (7:05 first pitch) to keep their hopes alive. The ticket office has assured Scene that there will be tickets available at the door. And in a special playoff promotion, general admission is only $3. Front row seats are only $5. And just like every two-fer Tuesday, hot dogs, burgers, pops and beers are only $2.
