Sweet Apple, an indie rock band featuring locals John Petkovic and Tim Parnin, both of whom play together in Cobra Verde, will release its new album, The Golden Age of Glitter, on April 8. It follows the band's acclaimed debut, 2010's Love & Desperation. The group, which also features J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr., Heavy Blanket) and Dave Sweetapple (Witch, Vardlokk), recorded the new album in California and Massachusetts, with Cleveland "in the middle." Petkovic has cryptically said it's "an album about connecting and missing flights, arrivals and departures." Guests on the 10-track disc include Mark Lanegan (Screaming Trees, Queens Of The Stone Age) and Robert Pollard (Guided By Voices). Pollard once had a falling out with Petkovic after Cobra Verde and GBV toured together (nice to see the guys are back on good terms!). The group has filmed a total of six music videos that it will soon release through different media partners between now and the album's release.
