for the renovation of Public Square, the Gund Foundation has now made a $5 million gift, the PD's

The $30 million project, which will re-imagine the Square's current four-quadrant configuration and increase green space by 40 percent, is expected to be completed in time for the Republican National Convention. Thanks to an ordinance approved last week
by city council, all evidence of construction must be gone by the time the GOP comes to town.
In recognition of the Gund Foundation gift, the North lawn will be dubbed the "Gund Foundation Green." That's not to be confused with the Cleveland Foundation Centennial Plaza.
The Group Plan Commission, with Jeremy Paris at the helm
, will continue to seek additional funding from foundations and corporations, so expect some outside-the-box naming rights to honor the benefactors: The Lubrizol Memorial Grove? The Parker-Hannifin Sitting Area? The Monte Ahuja College of Cobblestones?
