ICYMI: Browns Drop Ben Tate

the past several weeks (including a damning two-carry, negative-nine-yard showing against the Texans Sunday), it comes as only a mild surprise that the Browns announced they're parting ways with the fourth-year running back Tuesday morning.
"With all the transactions we make while constructing our roster, it will always be our intent to do what is best for our football team," Browns general manager Ray Farmer said in a statement. "This move is no different and we wish Ben the best going forward."
Tate signed a two-year contract with the Browns this off-season worth as much as $7 million. He had formerly shined as Arian Foster's backup in Houston.
Sports pundits are predicting he'll get gobbled up fairly soon, perhaps by the Indianapolis Colts, who just lost RB Ahmad Bradshaw to an ankle injury.
Looks like the thunder-and-lightning rookie tandem Terrance West and Isaiah Crowell will now own the Browns' backfield.
