Dashcam footage of a heroic April 2015 rescue was released this past week, showing Ohio State Highway Patrolman Eric Devers saving the life of a truck driver whose vehicle had veered off the roadway and plunged down a 60-foot embankment.

Devers is seen running from his vehicle toward the truck, where driver John Depue lay wounded.

“Keep breathing, keep breathing," Devers says as he counts out chest compressions. He then becomes frantic, screaming: “Don’t you die! Don’t you die on me! Don't you die on me! Come on!”

Devers received a Certificate of Recognition for his actions. Depue recovered fully.

“Our academy is so extensive in its training that at that point my mind just essentially went on autopilot. I just did what I knew I had to do," Devers told Fox News after the video began circulating on the Internet.
