Cedar Point Breaks Ground on New Sports Center
Phase I of the Cedar Point Sports Center includes Sports Force Parks, nine multi-purpose fields, four NCAA regulation baseball fields, a baseball stadium, softball stadium, eight NCAA regulation soccer and lacrosse fields, training areas and an ADA-accessible community field.
A promenade with miniature golf, a rope adventure course, bungee trampoline and playground will also be managed by the facility.
“Sports Force Parks at Cedar Point Sports Center will be a world-class destination for sports-focused families," said Jim Arnold, director of Business Development for The Sports Force & Fields, Inc., in a news release. "Our mission to combine sports, family and fun will bring young athletes and their families from across the country and provide them with the opportunity to combine a sports tournament with a family vacation.”
Bike trails along the Lake Erie waterfront will be part of Phase II of the project.
The facility is scheduled to be completed later this year, and the grand opening will be in spring of 2017.
