“When Cedar Point approached us about this idea, I didn’t want to say ‘no.’ I said, ‘Let’s find out how we can make it work.’ We knew this would be a great opportunity for us. We are all about a regional approach to best serve the Lake Erie shores and islands region. Moving forward, what I would like to see is developing more of a water-taxi service, between Cedar Point Marina and downtown Sandusky, with more frequent departures.”
— Lance Woodworth, Jet Express general manager
“When we surveyed the community, as part of our bicentennial vision (master plan) process last year, one of the top answers that we heard from folks about what they’d like to see was they wanted us to re-establish that connection to Cedar Point from downtown Sandusky. The fact that this is happening so quickly and on short notice, after the Jet Express already put its schedule together, is a testament to the wonderful community partnerships here.”
— Eric Wobser, Sandusky city manager
“This is something that we heard from our guests frequently. By arriving here on a boat, it’s a unique experience that people can have here at our park that you really can’t duplicate at any other park in the world. When our guests come to Cedar Point, they come to ride the roller coasters and visit the park, but they like to tour the region as well. The lake is why Cedar Point got started, and it is still a critical component of why guests come. If we can make it easier for them to enjoy the region and stay an extra day, then that makes it better for everyone.”
— Jason McClure, Cedar Point general manager
