Cleveland chief of police Calvin Williams has suspended Cleveland police officer and police union president Steve Loomis for 6 days for "improper conduct." The suspension, which Loomis says he will appeal, stems from an alleged altercation between Loomis and another officer, who shares a child with one of Loomis' daughters, at the police union hall.

That incident happened back in October of 2015. Via Cleveland.com's coverage:

An incident report obtained by Northeast Ohio Media Group says that a police unit and a supervisor were called about 2:15 a.m. Saturday to union headquarters on West 58th Street.

The record says an off-duty officer was assaulted, but doesn't list the name of anyone involved in the altercation.

When confronted about the accusations, Loomis said in a text message that the altercation was "nothing physical, just a family issue with my granddaughter's father."

He did not respond to further questions.

Loomis told Fox 8, “This is an off duty family matter. Out of respect for my daughter and granddaughter I will have no comment regarding the incident between my granddaughters father and myself which led to this discipline. The appropriate appeals have been filed.”

Loomis is also under investigation for wearing his uniform to a Donald Trump rally when he was off duty.
