Shaq Gets His Own Reality Show

Posted By on Mon, Jul 20, 2009 at 12:56 PM

Shaq — basketball player, rapper, actor, law enforcement fanatic, tweeter. Now, reality TV star.

The show, which will premiere August 18 on ABC and will air on Tuesdays at 9, is called Shaq Vs. The premise: Shaq challenges athletes in their respective sports. Unfortunately, as much as we would all like to see Shaq attempt a vault in gymnastics or a high dive off a platform, it seems to be mainstream type stuff. From the USA Today story:

Filming begins Wednesday in Pittsburgh, where Shaq takes on Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in football. Future hour-long episodes will pit him against Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, retired boxer Oscar De La Hoya, St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols, tennis pro Serena Williams and beach volleyball Olympians Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh.
