Things To Read That Might Not Suck: Lazy Friday Edition

It's Friday. It's been a long week. Plenty of stuff fell through the cracks. Plenty of stuff to still tell you.

— If you stole the tractor part of the tractor-trailer from NBC's Sunday Night Football crew in Canton during the Hall of Fame game, you probably already know that Cris Collinsworth was not stored in there, and thus your attempt at saving everyone from his announcing failed. Either way, NBC and the cops would like to speak to you. (Canton Repository)

— Good excerpt from Jeremy Schapp over at ESPN from his book Triumph: The Untold Story of Jesse Owens and Hitler's Olympics. (ESPN.com)

— Shaq squared off against Albert Pujols in a home-run derby last night for his reality show — Shaq Vs. No word on the winner, though one "media spy" wrote the following:

So, yes, I had a great view of the proceedings. And even though the good folks from the network made it difficult on the local media, I don't want to be a spoilsport, so I will not reveal the ending of the "competition."

But that doesn't stop me from offering clues:

Clue No. 1: I saw several balls travel completely out of this quaint minor-league park. Crushed over the left-field wall. Crushed over the tall pines beyond the center-field wall. Smoked on a line into bleachers all along the rim of left, left-center and dead center field.

Clue No. 2: I did not see one ball dunked.

Clue No. 3: As a batting coach, Ryan Ludwick (who was seen giving The Big Pitchout batting tips) makes a heck of a right fielder.

And finally:

Clue No. 4: The Big Infield is not so much a nickname as it is a vivid and descriptive method of measurement.

Saw a tweet somewhere that Shaq hit more than 3. That's all I know. (StLToday.com)

— Nothing too interesting in this Q&A Shaq did with Sporting News radio, but at the end he does proclaim his nickname to be "The Big Witness Protection," not just "The Big Witness." So, whatever. That's not really news, but it's a Friday, so give me a break. (Sporting News)
