10/8: Twelfth Night at Hanna Theatre

Sir Toby Belch is drunk the entire Christmas season in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, which begins when Belch’s niece shipwrecks in a land filled with treacherous pirates. She dresses up as a guy and lands a job as a page in the duke’s court, launching a comedy of sexual confusion and social ambition. Sir Belch may be a mere subplot, but he’s a witty and smart guy, and one of Cleveland’s favorite actors, Andrew May, plays him in the Great Lakes Theater Festival’s production. It’s directed by Charles Fee and opens at 7:30 tonight with performances through October 31 at the Hanna Theatre (2067 E. 14th St., 216.241.6000). Tickets: $15-$49. — Michael Gill
