Most of the time you know what to expect when you go to a holiday show put together by a group of artists. The work often leans toward the crafty, the wearable or otherwise functional, and it’s relatively inexpensive. But if a group of artists has higher aspirations, the emphasis turns from craft to art. That’s what you’ll find at the Artists Archives of the Western Reserve’s Holiday Members Show and Sale, which features paintings, prints, photos and mixed-media works. Just in time for the holidays. It opens with a reception from 5-8 p.m. today and continues through December 19 at the Artists Archives of the Western Reserve (1834 E. 123rd St., 216.721.9020). Admission is free. — Michael Gill
