Since it launched in 1980, Dischord Records has been home to notable post-punk bands like Fugazi, Jawbox and Shudder to Think. While the label doesn’t have the panache it did, say, 10 years ago, that’s no reason to dismiss its latest signing, Washington D.C.’s Andalusians. Fronted by Basla Andolsun (Beauty Pill, Del Cielo), the band is touring to promote “Do the Work/The Circus,” a terrific new 7-inch/digital EP. Both the undulating, Gang of Four-like title track and the gentler, Throwing Muses-like “Circus” emphasize Andolsun’s hiccupping vocals. (Digital-only tracks “I Don’t Know” and “Single Fantasy” also stand out for their dynamic, off-kilter tempos.) The band opens for up-and-coming locals the Buried Wires at 9 p.m. at the Happy Dog (5801 Detroit Ave., 216.651.9474). Tickets: $5. — Jeff Niesel
