4/9-11: ArtMart at SPACES Gallery

It’s the end of ArtMart as we know it, and the folks at SPACES Gallery feel fine. The annual event was launched 25 years ago to attract members by giving artists an opportunity to sell their work as well as to network. But lately, emphasis has been more on selling than networking. SPACES’ Susan Vincent says a recent survey of members indicates that they are looking for more community. The future may hold some other kind of social gathering, but in the meantime, the gallery is offering one final chance for you to buy paintings, photography, ceramics, jewelry, textiles and much more under the ArtMart name this weekend. It opens with a reception from 6-9 tonight and continues from 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. tomorrow and Sunday at SPACES Gallery (2220 Superior Viaduct, 216.621.2314). Admission: $5. — Michael Gill
