8/8: Pink Eye One-Year Anniversary Party

It’s been a year since Ian P.E. and Leigh Ring launched their bi-monthly zine Pink Eye. It started out with a print run of only 250 copies, but it’s transformed into a glossy mag (with a circulation of around 5,000) that gives equal weight to the underground rock and local art scenes. To celebrate, Pink Eye is hosting a party featuring the decidedly arty local band the Terminal Lovers. Chicago’s Poison Arrows and locals Hot Cha Cha, Umm Qasr (a group featuring dueling drummers), Mr. California, SL Maikita and Spacer Ace round out the bill. Festivities start at 9 p.m. at Now That’s Class (11213 Detroit Ave., 216.221.8576). Tickets: $6. — Jeff Niesel
