Fresh off a tour with Death Cab for Cutie, life is looking up for Ra Ra Riot. Last time the sextet played the Grog Shop, they opened for Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin. They return tonight as headliners, a position they’ve rightfully earned. Still touring behind The Rhumb Line, its 2008 debut, the Syracuse-based group continues to wow audiences with its cello- and violin-speckled indie pop. Frontman Wes Miles recently collaborated with Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij in the side project Discovery and snagged a few more fans along the way. It makes sense: Both bands play songs filled with choppy drums, bubblegum pop and simple vocal incantations. Princeton and Maps & Atlases open at 8 p.m. at the Grog Shop (2785 Euclid Heights Blvd., Cleveland Hts., 216.321.5588). Tickets: $12 advance, $14 day of show. — Danielle Sills
