9/20: Collinwood Unveiled

North Collinwood has quietly become one of Cleveland’s hippest neighborhoods. And so far, it’s about artists, musicians, small entrepreneurs, and affordable housing and storefront space — not big developers building snazzy “luxury” condos. So it’s appropriate that Arts Collinwood — the area’s nonprofit community arts center and gallery — is focusing its annual benefit, Collinwood Unveiled, on the area’s grassroots developers: its residents. It all kicks off at 5 p.m. at Arts Collinwood (15605 Waterloo Rd.) to check out the gallery’s show of paintings by local artists Randall Tiedman and Douglas Max Utter and tour an artist’s studio across the street. A minibus will then head over to five lakefront homes to enjoy catered food, drinks, live music, working artists and sunset over the lake, before returning to Arts Collinwood for dessert and coffee. Tickets are $75. Call 216.692.9500 or go to artscollinwood.org. — Anastasia Pantsios
