Of all days the
Elvis Birthday Tribute Tour is on the road this month, it stops in Cleveland today on what would have been the Kings 71st birthday. Take that, Memphis! The show, hosted by Elvis impersonators Shawn Klush and Ryan Pelton, takes the audience through four Presley eras: It starts in the 50s with hits like Heartbreak Hotel and Hound Dog followed by a musical survey of Presleys movie career (represented by tunes from
King Creole,
Blue Hawaii, and
Viva Las Vegas). It then spotlights Elvis 1968 comeback before culminating in a tribute to the Las Vegas/jumpsuit years. Presleys longtime drummer DJ Fontana and backup singers the Sweet Inspirations will also perform.
