John James Audubon: American Artist and Naturalist features more than 60 hand-colored engravings by the popular outdoors artist. The traveling exhibit -- now on view at the natural history museum -- features works from Audubons The Birds of America, a 19th-century groundbreaking book series that documents more than 1,000 types of birds. Intricately painted portraits of eagles, owls, and other fowl abound.
