Beer Drinkers in Space Showgirls: Fully Exposed Edition
The Cleveland Play House's FusionFest serves up a performing-arts buffet over the next three weeks. Stocked with opera, dance, and theater, the new festival offers more than a dozen performances. Highlights include Cleveland Opera's production of The Tyrant, the Cleveland School of the Arts' New Play Festival, and an appearance by veteran actress Ruby Dee, who will participate in a stage reading of Saint Lucy's Eyes. Also on board: cabaret performer Astrid Hadad, dancers in the interactive piece Trace, and the members of Verb Ballets (with a new work titled Verb Ballets Celebrates Cleveland Composers). Tonight at 7:30 p.m., the curtain rises on the priest-in-turmoil play Custody of the Eyes (see Sunday). Tickets range from $10 to $49.50. FusionFest runs nightly through May 21 at the Cleveland Play House, 8500 Euclid Avenue. Admission prices vary according to event. Call 216-795-7000 for a complete schedule.
