Suspect Thoughts Books morphs into Heartbreak Hotel for today's My CrAzY Valentine, where spurned gays, lesbians, and bisexuals swap stories about love affairs gone sour. To play along, talk about a bad first date, a partner from hell, or a scary one-night stand. In return, the shop's co-owners, Greg Wharton and Ian Philips, will pamper the scorned with pink-frosted cupcakes and heart-shaped candies imprinted with sayings like "Dirty Whore," "Spread 'Em," and "Spank Me." The tongue-in-cheek sob session is nothing new to the pair. Before they relocated to Cleveland in October, Wharton and Philips staged similar cryfests at their former bookstore near San Francisco, and the two claim a California love split is no different than one in Ohio. "This is an opportunity for singles to come together, hang out, and share their stories of breakups and broken hearts," says Wharton. Spill your guts from 7 to 9 tonight at Suspect Thoughts, 4903 Clark Avenue. Admission is free. Call 216-631-2665 or visit www.suspectthoughts.com.
