Beer Drinkers in Space Showgirls: Fully Exposed Edition
Dennis Werntz takes no more than 30 minutes to make himself up as the statuesque Denise Russell. And unlike other drag queens who lip-sync their acts, Werntz can actually sing. Tonight, he's in Akron to croon Carol Channing and Ethel Merman standards and impersonate Katharine Hepburn.

Offstage, Werntz is a make-up artist; he helped run the "transformation salon" Gorgeous in Munroe Falls, where he would outfit and make up other impersonators. Since it closed last year, Werntz has traveled around the country with his show, including a stop at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry, where he holds the distinction of being the only illusionist to ever perform on the fabled country-music stage.
