Get Out the Goat

Candy man throws Capricorns' annual birthday bash.

Cleveland theater best theater of 2007
Since the late '80s, Patrick Malley hasn't let a January go by without his Capricorn Party in downtown Cleveland. For him and anyone else born between December 22 and January 19, it's the one night of the year when the usually hardworking, ambitious, and practical sign of the goat can let loose and party hard with its fellow zodiacal members. "Us Capricorns are very accepting people," says Malley, who's a fund-raising specialist for his family's Lakewood-based chocolate company. "We embrace the zodiac rainbow." Tonight's blowout includes a Johnny Cash tribute by Terry Lee Goffee and plenty of Capricorn canoodling. "People come up to me talking about astrology," says Malley. "I'm like, 'Whoa! It's just a party,'" laughs Malley. Celebrate at 11 tonight at the House of Blues, 308 Euclid Avenue. Tickets are $10 (free for Capricorns with IDs). Call 216-523-2583 or visit www.hob.com.
