Girl Power

Beer Drinkers in Space Showgirls: Fully Exposed Edition
Local photographer Michelle Murphy traipsed through the remnants of natural disasters for her contribution to Flux: Feminine Identity, a woman-centered exhibit on display at the Fine Arts Association. One pic even shows the shutterbug standing among fallen trees, with a saw in her hand. (It’s a joke.) The show also features work by printmakers Pamela Dodds and Liz Maugans, sculptor Nancy Prudick, and filmmaker Robert Banks. “Through intimacy, women seek comfort,” says Dodds. “We often find ecstasy, despair, and sometimes, transformation.”
Fridays, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; Saturdays, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; Mondays-Thursdays, 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Starts: Jan. 27. Continues through March 10
