Up Periscope's first exhibit features 12 abstract works by Oberlin artist Fabio, whose affordable mixed-media pieces top out at about $600. That's quite a bargain, says Trunzo. "You walk in a gallery, and there's a $1,600 painting," he says. "Who's going to buy it? I can't afford that." Each month, Trunzo plans to exhibit new works by local artists. "Some people run up $70 bar tabs," he says. "Why not spend $150 to buy a piece of art? Then get a 12-pack on the way home."
