12/12-12/17Each of the songs featured in The Music of Hanukkah is about the festival of lights -- the lamps and candles that are traditions of the Jewish holiday. Violinists Stephen and Carolyn Warner perform tunes including "Ocho Kandelikas," for which audience members are chosen to join the musicians onstage. "We invite a bunch of kids up to take rhythm instruments and keep the syncopated beat," explains Joan Katz Napoli, the Cleveland Orchestra's education director. The program is part of the orchestra's Musical Rainbow series for children under 10, which also presents the dance ensemble Dance Afrika Dance in The Legend of the Nguzo Saba (Seven Symbols), a musical lesson about unity, self-determination, and purpose. The Music of Hanukkah is at 10 a.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday. The Legend of the Nguzo Saba is at 11 a.m. Wednesday. All performances are at Severance Hall's Reinberger Chamber Hall, 11001 Euclid Avenue. Tickets are $6. Call 216-231-1111 for more information. -- Cris Glaser
