Jammin' Biscuits

The Disco Biscuits may have one of the worst names in rock, but the Philadelphia jam band sure is an adventurous crew. For the past decade, the quartet has combined world music, funk, and blues in a heady, spacey mix. Many jam bands merely find a groove, settle in, and noodle away for 17 minutes. Not the Biscuits, who use the time to explore new aural terrain while building musical momentum. And like any self-respecting jam band, the Disco Biscuits know the value of a double-live CD. Their latest album, The Wind at Four to Fly, is packed with stopwatch-taxing jams recorded onstage over the past couple of years.
