Laughing Gas

Stand-up comedian really stinks.

Cincinnati-based comedian Josh Sneed says he’s an avid people-watcher. “I enjoy sitting around with someone I love and talking about the human trash that walks by,” he says. He also likes dissing his ex-girlfriend. “She was noisy and bulimic,” he quips. “I kept telling her, ‘Honey, keep it down.’”

Sneed doesn’t mind sharing stories about himself and his loved ones. That way, he says, other comedians won’t steal his jokes. “They can’t do it, because they’re personal -- all related to me.” A favorite gag involves Jessica Simpson, an airplane, and Sneed’s ass. He was flying home from Dallas a couple years ago, and The Dukes of Hazzard star was seated in front of him. He tried to make small talk, asking if she was visiting former husband Nick Lachey’s family, who live near Cincinnati. She ignored him. Insulted, Sneed got up, walked past her, and farted. “I wanted to turn around and see if she was making a face,” he recalls. “But there’s no way I could have done it without laughing. I’m just standing there like, I won!”
