Off-the-wall furniture dude polishes act for Last Call show.

Punk Rock Bingo Slayer 10 p.m. Wednesdays, 21 and over only, no cover. Touch, 2710 Lorain Ave., Ohio City, 216-631-5200.
When Mike Polk agreed to have his sketch troupe perform at tonight's grand opening of the new Borderline Comedy Club, he knew they'd have to pull off something spectacular. But how could his four-man group come up with a show creepy enough to live up to the two-hour act's name: Last Call Cleveland's Very Scary Christmas? Enter Marc Brown, the gravelly voiced pitchman in those bizarre late-night TV spots for Norton Furniture. "What else is there? We've been wanting to work with him for so long. We are huge admirers of his work, and he is a huge fan of us," says Polk. "So to have the opportunity to share the stage with this Renaissance man is just mind-boggling." And head-scratching. Besides his commercials, Brown has virtually no acting experience. So what can an audience expect from this dude with no performance chops? Last Call Cleveland has no idea. "He just said, 'I have lots of stuff I've been wanting to do for a while,'" Polk says, doing his best Brown impersonation. "I told him, 'I want you to do whatever you want to do for a half hour.' It's very vague, and that's what's exciting, I think." Polk, Brown, and crew perform at 9 tonight and tomorrow night on the lower level of the Borderline Comedy Club, 1572 West 117th Street. Tickets are $5. Visit www.myspace.com/theborderlinecomedyclub.
