@cal head 1:Mixed Nuts Don’t go to the Cleveland Play House’s Nutcracker expecting to see the same old Tchaikovsky ballet. Kenneth Kacmar’s take on the holiday staple centers on a little girl who’d rather stay home and listen to music from the 21st century than hang out with her family at the ballet. Soon, she drifts into dreamland, where a giant nutcracker asks her help in finding “the hardest nut in the world.” Get cracking at 1 and 3 p.m. at the Play House, 8500 Euclid Avenue.
