Art Spot

The Cleveland Museum of Art

British Drawings. The museum offers visitors a rare opportunity to see fragile, light-sensitive drawings from greats of English painting from the Rococo to the Edwardian periods. Featured artists include Thomas Gainsborough, William Blake, William Turner, and John Ruskin. Through May 26.

Picasso and the Mysteries of Life: La Vie. In this first show in the interactive exhibit space Gallery One, historic and forensic resources help viewers untangle the processes leading up to Picasso's early masterpiece "La Vie." River Gallery Arts

Discard/Reclaim. Nina Huryn's mixed-media panel works tell stories in pictures like comic books, hieroglyphics, or cave paintings. Candy wrappers, machine pieces, and other found objects join to make a world where skeletal figures play out dramas inspired by the Mexican Dia de los Muertos. Akron's Terry Klausman uses household tools, electronics, and bits of furniture to make meticulous assemblages. William Busta Gallery

Moving Pictures. Andrea Joki uses hybrid media to create abstract fields that explore the nature of time and memory, and how our ideas about inform life and art. An opening reception will be held Friday February 15 from 5 to 9 p.m. Joki will be in the gallery Saturday March 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. to discuss her work.
