As long as you don’t mind a little drool, you could meet the love of your life at today’s Paws 4 a Cause: Find Your Forever Friend event. The Cleveland Metroparks’ third-annual walk and pet-adoption program is all about the hookup. “Animals bring joy in so many different ways,” says spokeswoman Colleen Bittner. “There’s nothing like a big, wet, sloppy kiss from your dog for no apparent reason.”

The outing includes a two-mile walk around South Chagrin Reservation. Participants can take a get-to-know-you stroll with one of the dogs or cats up for adoption, or they can bring their own four-legged pal from home. Plus, experts will be on hand to guide potential adoptees through the process. “We know [the animals’] personalities, habits, likes, and dislikes,” says Bittner. “We can help you find the perfect companion for your home and lifestyle.”
