Donna Frisch of Lakewood doesn't see a "fat lady" when she looks in the mirror. Instead, she marvels at "a woman of distinction" as her 6-foot, 285-pound frame stares back at her. "I've been called every name in the book because of my size," says Frisch, who looks forward to this weekend's Ohio BBW Expo for "big, beautiful women." "But when I walk into a room, people take notice — not because of my weight, but because I'm self-confident and carry myself well." The expo is a three-day salute to supersized ladies, with fashion shows, lunches, dances, vendor booths, and workshops. It peaks tomorrow afternoon with the Ms. Ohio BBW Expo Pageant, for which contestants will be judged on talent, appearance, and interview skills. "Sure, it's fun to watch these skinny Minnies compete for Miss America," says Frisch. "It's even more of a thrill to watch a woman of size walk down the runway with as much poise and self-assurance as her underfed counterparts." The expo starts at 1:30 this afternoon, 10 a.m. tomorrow, and 9 a.m. Sunday at the Holiday Inn, 4181 West 150th Street. Admission is $50. Call 216-252-7700 or visit
