Tonight's
Snooze at the Zoo slumber party at the Akron Zoo shines a light on nocturnal critters. It starts with a sunset hike on the grounds, where visitors can spot more than 50 types of night stalkers, including snakes, owls, and chinchillas. "The animals are more active at dusk," says zoo rep David Barnhardt. "It's their time to prowl and feed." The party also includes arts-and-crafts projects, hands-on activities, and a midnight snack. Then it's nighty-night in the Komodo Kingdom, which features some of the largest lizards in the world. Little ones can cozy up to them in special "sleeping pods" cordoned-off areas where families can bunk down. "We really wanted to create a
personal experience," says Barnhardt.
